Hump Day!!

Wednesday is here-yeah!! Baseball practice tonight for Ben-he is getting to be quite the ball player-Zachary had practice the other night and thank goodness the coach is quick, otherwise he would have taken one in the noggin when Zach whaled the ball. Bright and sunny with a nice gentle breeze-just wonderful. Enjoy.

Poppy's Birthday

Happy Birthday DAD!!! Dad turns 83 today-boy are we lucky-many families are not as lucky as we are to have parents when we are parents. The boys love their Grandpa sooooo much. Having a hot dog roast tonight for the big bday dinner and cake. It is what Dad likes-so do all the grandkids. Off to Wilson Farms to get the morning paper, then to make cucumber salad to go with dinner. Have a great Sunday-its warm and sunny here 61 degrees at 8:30 in the morning-maybe we are experencing global warming.

TGIF

What a busy first week back to school after Easter break. Wednesday i actually decided to make an appointment for some ME time, went to Maryann Bonner's and had reflexology done-I still feel like I'm walking on marshmallows. It is a wonderful destressor. Cold and wet at night-no baseball practice YEAH!!! Thursday night is kiddy choir-I even took things for the kids to get ahead and make some Mother's Day cards-a couple of the kids did-but mostly the mom's had some "therapy". Today Zach and I did alot of running around that needed to be done, library, post office, Walmart, Cosmo Prof, and had to reward him by taking him to Dollar General. He was great- but he did remind me we forgot to go and feed the birds at the beach-so here we go.

Back to School Monday!!!

Easter break is over!!!! Back to school for both Ben and Zach-they were actually looking forward to seeing their friends. Jerry and I actually took advantage of the last night of vacation by having a babysitter come over and going on a "date". We haven't been able to do that since I had my neck surg. in March. It was nice to go out by ourselves and the boys had alot of fun with Kyle-he took them to the beach, playground and played soccer with them. He is great with the boys, we are very lucky to have him and his sisters around to babysit for us. It is a rainy day here so it was ok to go back to school and give mom time to herself and putter around the house-aka get some crafting done uninterrupted. Have a great day all!!

Never a Dull Moment

We truly never have a dull moment around here-this morning we found a wonderfully friendly black and white cocker spaniel taking up residence on our porch. He was very frightened but happy to see people. Dazzle and Daphne were quite the welcoming committee. No name tag but a dead battery in an invisible fence collar. Ben and Zach welcomed him much more than the girls. Zach got some "cookies" and made a friend very quickly. We made up some signs after taking some pics of "Freddy", we have Daphne so Freddy seemed appropriate. The Hamburg Town Dog Warden wasn't in yet. So, we made Freddy comfortable with a blanket and the extra crate that we have for when Benji comes to visit while we looked for his owners. In the meantime, we had promised to take the boys to the Penn Dixie Site and go fossil digging. It really was alot of fun-the boys found some really cool things, were able to dig, get dirty and mom and dad were able to get out some aggrivation on some rocks also. After getting home I called the Dog Warden again. Guess what-somebody was looking for "Freddy"-his owner was here in minutes to claim him-and it was a wonderful reunion. She scoulded him for crossing Amsdell Road, and I told her atleast he knew where to come and be safe, but now he needs a name collar. He really is a beautiful dog and we already miss him-even Jerry said we would never send him to the pound-he would have a home here if we did not find his owner. Oh, yeah his real name is "Colby" and he is welcome here anytime.
